Most Comino trips take you to the Blue Lagoon and back. This one takes three and a half hours to go round the island properly: three stops where you get in the water, five more where we slow down for the caves, reefs and the Gozo coast.
The boat is small, which is the whole point. There is room to move, the swim stops are long enough to be worth getting in for, and you can hear the person telling you what you are looking at.

Where the boat goes
Crystal LagoonSwim stop, 30 min
The first swim stop, and one of the most striking pieces of water on Comino. Half an hour to swim, snorkel or stay on board and look at the cliffs.
Cominotto ReefCruise past, 15 min
A slow cruise past the reef and its cave mouths, over some of the clearest water on the route.
Blue LagoonSwim stop, 45 min
The one everybody comes for: bright turquoise water over a white sandy seabed. Forty-five minutes to swim, take the paddleboard out, or go ashore for food and drinks.
Ħondoq BayCruise past, 15 min
Across the channel to the Gozo side, passing the clear water and rocky shoreline of Ħondoq.
Ħalfa RockCruise past, 15 min
A small rocky islet off Gozo, with the limestone stacked and weathered above the waterline.
Santa Marija BaySwim stop, 30 min
The quietest of the three swim stops. Half an hour to get in the water, float with a noodle, or just sit on deck.
Santa Maria CavesCruise past, 15 min
Comino's best-known caves. Depending on the sea, we either go in or come up close to the entrances.
Elephant Head RockCruise past, 15 min
The last landmark before we turn for home — a rock formation cut into shape by wind and sea.

Before you go
- At Ċirkewwa in Mellieħa, down the stairs behind the café kiosk, on the kiosk’s jetty — a short walk from the Gozo ferry terminal. Open the pin in Google Maps.
- The trip starts and ends at Ċirkewwa in Mellieħa. Please arrive 15–20 minutes before departure so there is time to check in and board.
- The itinerary and swimming stops can change depending on the weather and the state of the sea.
- Seating is not assigned. There are both sunny and shaded areas on board.
- Food and extra drinks are not included, but you can buy them ashore during the Blue Lagoon stop.
- Going ashore at the Blue Lagoon needs a free entry pass. You can also simply swim from the boat instead.

Amazing bucket-list experience with this tour. There was only around 19 in total so nice small group. … Those who wanted to could step off onto the island (free pass required) for 45 mins or so, or you could opt to stay on the boat and swim directly from the boat. We opted to swim from the boat which was the best decision!
